New Hope for You presents the
Annual “Linda T White Scholarships”
The scholarship is open to high school seniors who are residents of the Greater Memphis area including Desoto County, Mississippi as well as Crittenden County, Arkansas
It’s also open to DREAMERS!
Other qualifications are:
To be eligible for the Linda T. White annual scholarship, all applicants must:
- Student must have a “C” average to apply (Current transcript required NOT REPORT CARD)
- Student must be accepted into a trade school or college for Fall 2026 (must provide verification such as acceptance letter on school’s letterhead)
- Student must submit 2 letters of recommendation one from a past/current teacher and the second from someone who can attest to the student’s character (perhaps a pastor, volunteer organization, professional reference like employer)
- Student must submit an essay first, telling a little bit about themselves like their name, school, parents (caretaker) and what motivates them, then from there proceed on answering one of the four questions below
- All applications must be postmarked by 3/31/2026 and must have all information attached (No exceptions)
- Winners will be notified by 4/30 /2026 and presented TBA

- What are your greatest qualities or attributes that will help you achieve your desired academic goals?
- How are two ways, positive or negative, you believe AI will change the job market?
- What role can young adults play in addressing systemic inequalities?
